The threaded discussion at ecollege is for communication with your classmates and me in this class. I will respond to your questions there within 24 hours. Make all of this the first line of the body of the email (not the email subject).. Note - CIS 1 online is conducted completely over the internet. It is not hybrid and there is no attendance on campus. You will not be able to login to SMC Online until your class begins.

For example, if your birthday is March 15, 1986, then your password is 031586 This course has the same 3 unit transferable value as the traditional on campus CIS 1 class. All assignments will be given online, homework will be submitted via email, and all tests will be online/open book. You
will need a computer (PC), Microsoft Word, Internet access, and an email
account. In general, if you are not taking any on-campus computer classes, you
will not be able to use the computer lab in B231. However, If there is an

Drop Policy or call admissions at (310) 434-4474. Note: You are responsible for determining the drop deadlines for the semester. No drops will be given after the deadline. Assignments: 1. A
significant portion of your grade is based on homework assignments. Please
look under each Week heading at the beginning of the week to review your
assignment instructions for that week and the due dates. Then proceed to
each item underneath the Weekly heading.
3. No cheating of any kind will be tolerated with homework assignment files.
This includes sharing work or copying sections of another student's work.
Regardless of the circumstances, both students involved will be considered at
fault. So, do NOT offer your files to any student, even if
they "only want to see what the finished assignment looks like". It is much
easier to identify cheating with files than with paper printouts. 1. There will be 5 tests. The exams will be objective (ie multiple choice and true/false). 2. Students are required to take all exams. No exam scores will be dropped from your grade. Participation: 1. You will receive participation credit for contributions to the threaded discussions by the assigned due date.
